Admission Procedure for International Students

NRI Quota in Engineering Colleges : NRI Quota is applicable in both government and private engineering institutes across India. While private institutes often entail additional fees for seats under the NRI quota, government colleges implement specific schemes, like DASA and its subset CIWG scheme, offering reserved admission for NRI students. These schemes provide opportunities for NRI/PIO/OCI candidates to secure admissions in esteemed technical institutes, including NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other premier technical institutes with defined provisions and guidelines.

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech / B.Pharm): :
    Completion of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English along with JEE score.
  • Postgraduate Programs (MBA / MCA / M.Tech / M.Sc) :
    A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3–4 years) in the relevant field with a minimum of 55–60% aggregate marks and proficiency in English.

2. Admission Pathways

  • Direct Admissions (Self-Financed) :
    International students can apply directly through the institute’s International Student Cell.
  • Government-Sponsored or Scholarship Admissions :
    Students nominated under various international scholarships or cultural exchange programs can apply through the designated national channels.
  • MoU-Based Admissions :
    Foreign institutions having an MoU with the institute may recommend students for admission under the agreed terms.

3. Application Timeline

  • Undergraduate Programs :
    Applications are accepted until May–June for July–August intake.
  • Postgraduate Programs :
    Applications should be submitted by January for July–August intake.

4. Required Documents

  • Academic transcripts and certificates Parents’ resident certificates issued by the embassy of the residing and IT-compliant country are proof of the parents’ residency Employment Letter of either parent for employment proof. Citizenship of the candidate for residential proof Proof of English proficiency or medium of instruction Valid passport and student visa Passport-sized photographs No Objection Certificate (NOC) from appropriate authorities (if applicable)

5. Fee Structure and Payment

  • The institute maintains transparent and fixed fee structures for international students. No capitation fees are charged. All payments are to be made through authorized channels and receipts will be provided. As per recent circular from competent authorities fees for NRI/PIO/FS is 5 times of the fees approved for regular student.

6. Seat Allocation

  • nationals/NRI/PIO students as per AICTE norms. Every institute has to get approval for this addition quota from AICTE by complying conditions led down by Ministry of Education/ UGC/AICTE.
