Department of Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering is the science and technology of serving nation through well-equipped and professional personnel. Civil Engineers are also known by Contractors, Builders and Developers who practice in the various fields of expertise. Their main tasks include- construction, design and execution of various projects like Roads, Railways, Tunnels, Docks, Harbors, Residential Buildings, Commercial Buildings, other miscellaneous constructions. Degree in Civil Engineering certificate holders may start practicing Private Contractor, Private Company Job or Government personnel. Other than working right after completing Degree course, one may also go for further studies (ME, M-Tech.). After which he/she can approach to PhD (Research and Development) sector associated with the field of Civil. Starting salary depends on factors like profile of the employer, job location and job profile. Depending upon the above mentioned factors, Degree in Civil Engineering certificate holders may earn anywhere between 10-50K Rupees per month (at start).

Degree in Civil Engineering is a Four years course established in 2011, that deals with the various aspects as, Surveying, Hydraulics, Construction methods/techniques, construction materials, human resources/machine management, Structural Design/ Analysis, Irrigation, Geology, Quantity surveying and valuation, Building laws, Earthquake resistant designs, Water Resources, Environmental aspects, Ethics and Values.

In Civil Engineering, students acquires knowledge of active Construction Projects, also learn to plan, design, execute and analyze various civil engineering structures like building, roads, railways, tunnels, docks, harbors etc. keeping in mind the environment friendliness, economy, reliability and safety aspects.
