Industrial Visit of Degree Mechanical Students

An industrial visit for Third Year (TY) Mechanical students was conducted at the State Transport Divisional Workshop, Satara, as part of their B. Tech. Mechanical Automobile Engineering course. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into the working of automobile engines and their various components. This hands-on experience helped students understand real-world automotive engineering practices, complementing their academic learning. The visit was coordinated by Prof. M. L. Rathod, ensuring students gained valuable knowledge about engine mechanics and maintenance in an industrial setting.


Avishkar 2025 Meeting of DBATU

Dr. T. R. Shinde, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as the Institute Avishkar Coordinator, attended the Avishkar 2025 meeting at Chh. Sambhajinagar on September 13th and 14th. The meeting was part of the annual gathering of Avishkar Coordinators, where key decisions were made regarding the selection of host institutes for the Zonal and University levels of the Avishkar competition. Dr. Shinde’s participation contributed to the planning and organization of this prestigious event, which aims to foster innovation and research among students and faculty across various disciplines.


ISHRAE Industrial Visit

Prof. S. K. Raut, Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering and ISHRAE Coordinator, visited Copland-Karad, Copland-Atit, and Ajinkya Sales and Services, Satara, alongside members of the ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter. The visit was aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the practical applications of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems in various industries. By observing these applications firsthand, the team gathered valuable insights into the operation, design, and maintenance of industrial HVAC systems. This knowledge will contribute to bridging the gap between academic concepts and real-world practices, fostering stronger collaboration between industry and academia for the benefit of students and professionals.


Farewell Function of 2023-24 Batch

The farewell function for the final-year Mechanical Engineering students, organized by the Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) on 13th July 2024, was a memorable and heartfelt event attended by all final-year students, faculty members, and esteemed guests. The event commenced with a warm welcome by student coordinators Swapnil and Siddharth, followed by an inspiring speech from the Head of the Department, Dr. T.R. Shinde. The highlight was the award ceremony, where various awards were given, including the Best Outgoing Student award to Mr. Kunal Bagade for his outstanding academic performance. Fun games were organized, and students shared their experiences and gratitude towards faculty and peers. Gifts were presented to all students as a token of appreciation, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by MESA Coordinator, Mr. P.P. Nimbalkar.


Alumni Meet 2024

The Mechanical Engineering Department organized an Alumni Meet on 13th July 2024, welcoming alumni from the batches of 2021 to 2023. The event began with a warm welcome by the Head of the Department, Dr. T.R. Shinde, who introduced the guest of honor, Associate Director Prof. R.D. Mohite. Prof. Mohite delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong connections with the alma mater and encouraging alumni to contribute to the growth of the department and institution. Alumni shared their experiences and journeys after graduation, reflecting on how their education shaped their careers and personal development. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Alumni Coordinator Mr. A.B. Atpadkar, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and organizers for making the event a success. The Alumni Meet fostered a sense of community, providing a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and ideas, and strengthening the bond between past and present members of the Mechanical Engineering Department.


Industrial Visit

The Department of Mechanical Engineering orchestrated an enriching industrial visit encompassing diverse facets of the manufacturing and automotive sectors. Beginning with a visit to the Chowgule Industries Service Center, students delved into the intricacies of automobile servicing, witnessing firsthand the meticulous processes and advanced technologies employed in maintaining and repairing vehicles. Subsequently, the journey led to GPRO Drive, a renowned gear manufacturing plant, where students were immersed in the precision engineering techniques involved in the production of gears for various applications. The tour culminated at Dhanashree Foundry, offering students a glimpse into the traditional yet indispensable art of metal casting. Through interactions with industry experts and hands-on exploration of cutting-edge machinery, students not only deepened their understanding of mechanical engineering principles but also gained invaluable insights into the practical applications of their academic knowledge. This comprehensive industrial visit not only broadened their perspectives but also instilled a sense of enthusiasm and readiness to tackle real-world engineering challenges with confidence and competence.


Expert Speech on

On 24th January 2024, the Mechanical Engineering Department hosted a guest lecture on "Career Aspects in Mechanical Engineering" from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Mechanical Seminar Hall, featuring Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal from Techense Engineering Services, Pune. Organized under MESA, the event began with Mr. P.P. Nimbalkar extending a warm welcome to Mr. Aggarwal, followed by an introduction by Dr. T.R. Shinde, who highlighted Mr. Aggarwal's extensive experience in aluminium casting. Mr. Aggarwal delivered an engaging lecture covering the scope and challenges in the aluminium casting sector, the role of mechanical engineers in design, the use of software tools to enhance productivity, and the diverse career paths available for mechanical engineers. Distinguished attendees included Vice-President Mr. Ajinkya Sagare, Campus Director Dr. V.K. Redasani, Engineering Principal Dr. P.R. Dadadapure, and Polytechnic Principal Prof. Pravin Gawade, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Aggarwal for his enlightening lecture and thanked the participants for their active engagement. The event significantly contributed to the knowledge enrichment of both students and faculty.


ISHRAE Student Chapter Installation

The installation ceremony of Indian Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) student chapter for Yashoda Technical Campus, Satara, under ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter, took place on Tuesday November 28th 2023 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Seminar hall. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Ajinkya Sagare, Vice President, YSPM, Dr. V. K. Redasani, Director, YSPM, Dr. P. R. Badadapure, Principal, YSPM and head of the department of Mechanical Engineering along with the faculty members and students. Shri. Pramod Pungaonkar, President Elect ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter, Shri, Sanjay Ranade, Ex-President, ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter Shri. Kulkarni, Ex-President, ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter and Shri. Uday Kulkarni, Treasurer, ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter, Mr. Dilip Kirpekar, Shr. Amrut Satvekar, immediate past President, ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter presided the program.


Yashoda Technical Campus, Satara, in collaboration with the ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter

The Mechanical Engineering Department of YSPM's Yashoda Technical Campus, Satara, in collaboration with the ISHRAE Kolhapur Chapter, organized a comprehensive technical session on the opportunities within the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. The event took place on August 26, 2023, starting from 10:00 AM onwards. The session aimed to enlighten students about the vast prospects in the HVAC sector and the advantages of being associated with ISHRAE. The seminar witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of about 200 students and faculty members from the Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Polytechnic and Architecture streams.
