The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering is proud to highlight its active participation in a significant discussion on AI-based road safety solutions, held in the presence of Hon. Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari.

During the meeting, Dr. Suraj R. Nalawade represented the department and contributed to discussions on the application of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing road safety measures on 22/04/2026. Key areas of focus included the use of AI for accident prediction, intelligent traffic monitoring, smart sensors, automated alert systems, and data-driven decision-making to reduce road mishaps.

The interaction emphasized innovative approaches such as machine learning models for risk analysis, smart surveillance systems, and advanced traffic control mechanisms. The department’s involvement in such high-level discussions reflects its commitment to leveraging AI for societal impact and real-world problem-solving.

The Department of Management at Yashoda Technical Campus, Satara organized an expert session titled “AI for Managers: Practical Tools, Industry Applications and Emerging Trends” on 17 April 2026 at 10:30 AM.

The session was delivered by Dr. Suraj R. Nalawade, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering. He shared valuable insights into the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in modern management practices, focusing on practical tools, real-world industry applications, and emerging trends.

The session provided students with a deeper understanding of how AI-driven technologies are transforming decision-making, strategic planning, and organizational efficiency. It proved to be an informative and enriching experience for all participants.

A utility patent titled “AI-Driven Sustainable Agriculture Optimization Platform Using Real-Time Earth Data” has been published by Dr. Suraj R. Nalawade, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering. This achievement reflects the department’s commitment to innovation, applied research, and the development of intelligent solutions addressing real-world challenges in sustainable agriculture.

Prof. Himgouri Omkar Tapase, Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering, has successfully published a book titled “AI & Robotics in Construction Engineering” with Aqua Publications, an international publisher (ISBN: 978-93-47184-30-7). This notable academic achievement highlights the institute’s strong research culture, interdisciplinary focus, and commitment to academic excellence, and stands as a proud moment for the department and the institution.

The Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering, Dr. Suraj R. Nalawade was felicitated with the prestigious Swararaj Chota Gandharva Pratishthan, Koregaon during the Smritidin Celebration Ceremony held on 31st December 2025. This honor was conferred in recognition of valuable contributions and dedication, marking the occasion as a moment of pride and distinction for the department and the institution.
